Palaeontology seems like the most difficult course to get into. Ever. In fact it's giving me a headache.
Bristol...oh god. Five Highers, AAABB. I thought 'you know, okay not so bad' - but then on top of that you need three Advanced Highers, ABB! Admittedly, it IS a Masters degree in Palaeontology and Evolution, with only ten spaces available a year.
But dear god whyyyy?
There's a couple of geoscience courses which I might be able to take first then get into that one, but that's a whole four years. If I SOMEHOW kick my butt into gear to get those AAABB's this year, then I might be able to go for the ABB next year, and that cuts three years out of a subject I don't want to do. No, for Pete's sake, I do NOT want to learn about " petrolum geology " okay?
There's two places in America I can apply to as well, as well as a bunch in England. I need to sit and look over these, but I have not a clue how the American grade system works, and that's probably what's causing a small part of my headache.
Is this what stress feels like?
The American uni's were North Arizona and San Diego. Does anyone know anything about them?

Actually that's how all doctors/masters degrees go as far as I know. I'm pretty sure no matter WHAT your major ends up being if you plan to go to that level you'll be in the same position. This is why doctors get paid ridiculous amounts of pay. It also keeps the economy's in balance. Too many people getting doctors degrees leads to the 'too many cooks in the kitchen' theory and things don't work out. Not only that by only picking say the top ten or twenty students you are keeping the average slide through students from getting degrees.
Think about it. Once you have your degree you have it. Nobody can EVER take that away from you. Not only that a degree is simply that. It doesn't say A student degree it's just a degree so it wouldn't be any incentive for those a Students to study and work for the highest grade once that test comes. I know I'd rather have a top of the class doctor do work for me than a slide by.
I'm also surprised you've not bugged me about those schools. xD I lived in Arizona most my whole life. Plus if you are confused about ANYTHING feel free to catch me on msn or note me on here. I swear I'll do my best to help you Lara.
Also I didn't know that about degrees, thanks for saying <3 I get what you mean. So whaddya know about these places?

So why care for these petty obsessions?
Your designer heart still beats with common blood!
And what if you could have genetic perfection,
Would you change who you are, if you could?
I wish you best of luck hun
you know that 100% is the best you can get no? Well 90%-100% is an A, 80%-89% is B, 70%-79% is a C and usually anything below that is failing. Pretty simple grading. xD
I've heard good things from North Arizona University. I'd try digging around on the website for the best info. I've never really heard anything bad about them. I do know it is in flagstaff which is one of the FEW places that gets snow. But expect 121 degrees F in the summer as an average temperature. ;D

Now San Diego I've visited in california, but I can't recall hearing anything about that school. Sorry.
